In a pulsating Match Day 3 encounter of the U16/17 Academia Junior Championship, SLAS FA emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Egbin Young Stars in what proved to be an electrifying display of youth football.

The match showcased the exceptional talent of Egbin Young Stars’ captain, Emmanuel, who demonstrated his scoring prowess by netting two goals in quick succession. This remarkable feat brought his goal-scoring record to an impressive three goals in three games. His performance was significantly enhanced by the dynamic presence of Awolola Femi, whose impact as a substitute transformed the game’s momentum for Egbin Young Stars.

SLAS FA’s skipper, Elysee Akakpo Sarumi, proved crucial to his team’s success, converting a perfectly executed set-piece that secured the vital three points for his side. This was in addition to earlier goals scored by Gbadeyan Qudus and Adesoji Benjamin. The game was further illuminated by the exceptional performance between the posts, as the young goalkeeper pulled off several remarkable saves. One particular save drew a standing ovation from the crowd, showcasing the high level of talent on display in this youth championship.

Emmanuel Neokpuru’s stellar performance didn’t go unnoticed, as he claimed his second consecutive Man of the Match award, underlining his consistency and impact on the field.

The final score of 3-2 in favor of SLAS FA reflects the competitive nature of the match and the quality of football displayed by both teams in this U16/17 category clash. This result will surely be remembered as one of the highlights of Match Day 3 in the Academia Junior Championship.
