Sporting Lagos kept the winning spirit alive with a solid 1–0 victory over Greenlock FC in the Gold Cup preseason tournament, another confident step in our preparations for the new NNL season!
From kickoff, the Tech Boys looked sharp, moving the ball with intent and creating wave after wave of attacking chances. Greenlock’s goalkeeper, however, seemed determined to spoil the party, pulling off a series of unbelievable saves that kept the scoreline goalless for much of the match.
But Sporting Lagos never stopped believing. The breakthrough finally came in the 68th minute, when Lasisi pounced on a rare mistake from the Greenlock keeper to calmly slot home the winner! The fans erupted as the ball hit the net, a moment of reward for all the hard work and pressure our boys had applied.
Despite Greenlock pushing for an equaliser late on, our defence stayed solid and composed, showing the kind of resilience that has become a trademark of this team.
The win is another positive sign as Sporting Lagos continue their build-up to the upcoming NNL season. The chemistry is growing, the energy is right, and the confidence is building , one game at a time.
